Cheapest 24GB+ VRAM in Australia

Every way we track to get at least 24GB of memory for AI models, priced in AUD today. Graphics cards keep the model in fast VRAM. Macs and AI mini PCs share one big pool of slower unified memory, and we only count the part a model can use by default.

FAQ

What's the cheapest 24GB graphics card in Australia?

The cheapest graphics card with 24GB or more VRAM we found is the AMD Radeon AI PRO R9700 32GB at A$2,299 (Mwave), checked 20 Oct 2026, 7:38 am AEST. The NVIDIA RTX 3090 24GB, NVIDIA RTX 4090 24GB, AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX 24GB had no current new listing at the AU retailers we check.

Why do people want 24GB of VRAM for local AI?

24GB holds mid-size models fully on the GPU. For example, Nemotron 3.5 Lightning 30B-A3B (MoE) needs about 20.2 GB at Q4_K_M with an 8k context, which won't fit on a 16GB card.

Is unified memory a cheaper way to get 24GB+?

Not today, if you already own a PC. The cheapest device with 24GB+ usable unified memory is the Mac Studio M5 Max (32-core GPU) 36GB at A$4,299 (27 GB usable), against A$2,299 for the AMD Radeon AI PRO R9700 32GB. It's a whole computer rather than a card, but it generates text more slowly (460 GB/s vs 640 GB/s). The bigger unified-memory machines (64–256GB) are the cheapest way to hold very large models.
